Jenn and I arrived bright eyed in the Narita airport today. Jetlag seems almost non-existent thanks to Jenn's dad hooking up first class seats. It definitely made the start of our trip very enjoyable. With lie flat seats and an endless supply food and drinks we had no trouble setting our clocks to Tokyo time.Customs was painless. First order of business after exiting the airport was a quick change and trashing of our falling apart shoes that were necessary for the first class cabin
(thanks for the tip BVH). Then it was off to the tricky train station that took eventually took us to the Sugamo station that is right by our friend Yuju's house.Yuju showed us around the Sugamo area a bit and took us out to a great ramen place. He helped us make plans for the week before setting us up on his mat floor bed deal. It's seemed like one long day since we left Chicago on Monday morning. Now its off to bed.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy Tokyo. A bowl of ramen is the perfect comfort food after the long flight. Now, you need to make your visit to Tsukiji (pronounced Ski Gee) the fish market and post some photos from there.

Jen, it's good to see you made it there safe and sound! So cool that you're in Tokyo now. Definitely keep posting pictures and posts b/c even though you left us for half a year, we can still keep up with you like you're still down the hall :)
