Ahh, the Roocas

Is has been a whirlwind since our friend John joined us in Tokyo. The first night he was here Yuju took us out for an all nighter followed by the Tsukiji Fish Market. After a quick nap we were off to Akihabara (which was pretty overwhelmingly awesome) and we finished the evening up with a trip to Yuju's favorite Korean restaurant.

Woke up on Sunday and went to some busy Tokyo area before heading off to relax in an Onsen for the night. That was a really neat experience and I'm sure Jenn will write about it soon. The Japanese truly know how to relax.

We left the Onsen and bid farewell to Yuju. We headed off by train to Kyoto... on the way we were lucky to have John in tow because he was smart enough to know that the Asahi brewery was on the way. It was a neat tour - quite an impressive facility.

We rolled into Kyoto last night around 7 or so and checked into a Japanese Guest House. This place continues our bed-less streak. I'd be curious to see how common western beds are in Japan. Are we just not seeing them, or are they truly rare? Anyway, I think sleeping on the tatami floor mats is fun for now.

Anyway, we are in Kyoto now (Tuesday morning). Our Asahi tour yesterday (coupled with the fact that you can drink on trains) left us pretty tired when we checked in. So we called it an early night. Off to tour historic Kyoto.
